Pier Giorgio Frassati - You Can't Just Stand By and Watch, ITALIAN. The sun is high and its rays press firmly on the back of the young man climbing the rock face. He wears a simple white shirt, comfortable trousers and mountain boots: with him there are only silence, taut muscles, breath and trust. He climbs confidently, without hesitation, with the strength of one who knows and loves the mountain—he does not fear it; it is his ally. Pier Giorgio prays even during the ascent: words need not be spoken, for praise is within him, becoming step, breath and gift. Every hold is an invocation, every stretch won a living prayer. His true summit, however, is not only the mountain's but that of justice, solidarity and love for the poor and the marginalized. In these intense pages, moving between narrative and testimony, a profound portrait unfolds of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young man who chose a side and never looked away. With God in his heart and his brothers in his mind, he lived a concrete, passionate holiness, as strong as the rock he loved to climb.
