The following of the Madonna of Hodegetria is extremely widespread and is thought to be a legacy of the Byzantine conquests.The riza is placed on a completely hand-painted, modern background on a wooden table, and is worked in silver-plated copper. It is created with traditional techniques in relief, and this particularity also makes it pleasant to the touch, and is hand-glazed with Schauer enamel.This reproduction of an ancient icon is hand painted and beaten according to a method handed down in Russian style over the centuries by a limited number of Polish artists.

Michel G.8/13/2025Livraison rapide et l’icône est très bien emballée. Elle est livrée dans une très belle boite et ce pourrait être un très beau cadeau à offrir. (je me suis fait un cadeau pour moi) Cette icône est travaillée minutieusement avec des détails très fins, c’est vraiment magnifique. C’est un très bel article qui est agréable à l’œil et que l’on ne se las pas de contempler. L’épaisseur du tableau n’est pas de 4 cm comme indiqué mais de 2 cm environ. Le tableau est composé de trois plans que l’on ne distingue pas sur l’image du magasin. - Le premier plan inférieur où sont peints les visages, les mains et les pieds. - Le deuxième plan supérieur à environ 1,5 mm au-dessus où se situent tous les décors argentés et qui comporte des alvéoles pour apercevoir les têtes, les mains et les pieds du plan inférieur. - Ensuite il y a un troisième plan pour représenter les auréoles de la sainte Marie et de Jésus. Pour profiter pleinement de cet objet d’art il faut le regarder de face (perpendiculaire) car on risque d’apercevoir les bords du premier plan tronqués par le deuxième plan. Donc ne pas placer en haut d’un mur. Le mien je l’ai accroché au mur à 1.54 m du sol. (Éviter que des épaules puissent accrocher le tableau en passant près du mur).
