After being found, she was placed in the Greek-schismatic church in Kazan where she became famous for the miracles that occurred later. This icon became the most revered Marian icon in Russia in the late Middle Ages, and was considered the protector of the family. According to Russian traditions, this icon was given to newlyweds and had to enter their new home first as it was considered the Lady of the home.This reproduction of an ancient icon is hand painted and beaten according to a method handed down in Russian style over the centuries by a limited number of Polish artists.The riza is placed on a completely hand-painted, modern background on a wooden table, and is worked in silver-plated copper.
