Saint Luke the Evangelist icon, Russian style, hand-painted. Orthodox icon made by hand following the tradition of Russian iconography, executed on linden wood with egg tempera and gold leaf. The scene depicts Saint Luke seated at an easel, contemplating and painting the image of the Virgin and Child, in accordance with the ancient tradition that recognizes him as the first Marian iconographer.
