Russian icon Our Lady of Kazan, hand painted 14x10 cm.This orthodox icon is a faithful reproduction of one of the most famous original archetypes of Our Lady of Kazan from the 17th century.The Kazan icon is made and produced by hand, according to the rules of the Byzantine-Russian school of icons.It is plated with gold leaf and is made on a solid linden wood board measuring 14x10 cm. It is created with a ''craquele'' effect to give an ''antiqued'' effect to the icon.The origin of this icon is connected to a legendary fact dating back to 1579, when this icon appeared to a girl in a dream.Thus the little girl was able to indicate the hiding place of the miraculous icon and the picture thus found was returned with honor to the local Cathedral, where some time later it became famous for its miracles.Behind the Kazan icon we find a stamped guarantee certificate, a label with a brief history of the icon and the icon itself is delivered in a box made of the same material of solid linden wood.
