This icon is a very popular subject in the Russian tradition. Mother Mary holds Jesus in her arms. The name "Fiodor" comes from the name of the Prince Jaroslav from Vladimir. According to the legend, this icon, famous for its miracles, was brought to the Cathedral of Vladimir in 1239.
