Romanian hand-painted icon of the Annunciation, 31x23 cm. Hand-painted on a 31x23 cm wooden panel in Romania, created according to the Eastern iconographic tradition. The image depicts the Archangel Gabriel announcing to the Virgin Mary the mystery of the Incarnation of Christ. Painted by Romanian iconographers specialized in traditional techniques, with careful attention to the portrayal of the figures and symbolic details. The Archangel is shown with spread wings, a blue tunic and a mantle in shades of red and pink; he holds the messenger's staff and extends his hand toward Mary. The Virgin is seated on a throne decorated with architectural motifs, wearing a blue robe and a dark red mantle, and raises her right hand in response to the divine message. The composition features a gilded background, circular halos, identifying inscriptions and architectural elements in tones of red and ochre. At the top appears the inscription Buna Vestire, the Romanian name for the Annunciation. The Orthodox icon evokes the Gospel account of Gabriel's greeting to Mary and the announcement of Jesus' birth by the Holy Spirit. The religious icon is delivered in a red velvet presentation box with a white satin interior for protection during transport and storage. Each icon is delivered with a certificate of guarantee.
