Mary Glykophilousa with Child 44x32 cm Romanian icon.
Mary with the Child painted on a wooden tablet. Madonna icon "Sweet kissing" belongs to the iconographic type "Glikofilusa". Baby Jesus has his face attached to his mother, in a gesture of great tenderness. In this icon, the Most Holy Mother of God seems to embrace him better than in other icons, and his expression is more affectionate. Icon painted entirely by hand in Romania according to the ancient Byzantine painting techniques
