Hand-painted Romanian Nativity Icon, 24x18 cm. This Romanian sacred icon depicts the Nativity of the Lord and is hand-painted on a solid wooden panel measuring 24x18 cm. The painting is created by Romanian iconographers trained in the Eastern tradition, with a composition that follows orthodox models of Christ's birth. The scene is organized around the Mother of God, shown reclining on a red couch with her head covered by a brown mantle and wearing a deep-blue garment according to traditional iconographic elements. The Baby Jesus lies in a rectangular stone manger, wrapped in swaddling bands and flanked by the ox and the ass; the dark background emphasizes the place of birth. The manger's rectangular form recalls a tomb and symbolically alludes to Christ's Passion and Resurrection.
Saint Joseph occupies the lower part of the composition, seated on a rocky element in an orange-red robe, in a contemplative attitude with his gaze turned toward the central scene. Above are angels in light vestments with golden wings, while a descending ray represents the divine light and the mystery of the Incarnation. Dominant tones include ochre, brown, red and blue, with gilded halos and dark contours defining the figures and the rocky landscape. The inscription Nasterea Domnului, placed in the upper area, identifies the Nativity subject in Romanian. The panel is supplied in a red velvet presentation box with a white satin lining for protection during transport and storage, and the product is accompanied by a certificate of guarantee.
