Russian Icon painted decoupage, Holy Family. Measures 17x13 cm.
This elegant solid wood religious icon of The Holy Family was designed and constructed according to ancient Russian techniques with transverse beams, which help prevent the curvature of the wood over time. The orthodox icon is hand colored through the mixed technique of painting and decoupage. The halos are painted with various shades of gold, similar to pure gold.
