Nursing Madonna antique Russian icon, restored XX century.
This is one of the first representations of Our Lady and it dates back to the XII century.
In the Christian iconography the Nursing Madonna is the closest to the faithful as she is depicted during the most intimate moment with her son.
Origin: Moscow, Russia
Technique: Wood, Levkas painted with egg tempera and gold leaf
Measurements: 47x38 cm
Epoch: end of 1900.
Restoration: this icon was restored in 2016 by masters iconographers in Moscow.
