Ancient Russian icon Stauroteca with scenes from the XIX century, measuring 35x31 cm. This antique icon from central Russia is created on a wooden panel as a Stauroteca, a name stemming from a particular form of reliquary made to contain fragments of the Cross of Christ. The upper part depicts the Deposition from the Cross of Christ and the Entombment. On the right, next to the bronze crucifix, are the Apostle John and the centurion Longinus. On the left, the three Marys are highlighted, while centrally and in the lower register, is depicted St. Nicholas of Myra in bronze with enamels.
