Measurements: 40x40x5 cm.The Holy Family statue is an artisanal product made of lenga wood, hand-sculpted by Peruvian artisans. The timber comes from Lima and is brought to the Andes, where the workshops are located, at an altitude between 2800 and 3600 meters. Here the timber must age from 1 to more years, depending on the thickness. When the humidity drops to 12-13% it is ready to be used. The drawing, first performed on paper, is shown on a wooden board.Subsequently the wood is carved with the help of chisels and gouges. In the first phase of processing it is roughed out defining the figures, then with other tools worked patiently until the complete realization of the image with all the details. All the young sculptors came out of the "Don Bosco" art school and received tools in order to work with their hands. The Holy Family sculpture is made in Peru by local artisans who work within the Mato Grosso project.
