The technique
The Linea Aurea by Bottega Tifernate stands out for its high-quality artistic works produced using the patented technique of pictography, devised by maestro Stefano Lazzari. This method allows the creation of reproductions that retain all the aesthetic qualities of an original painting. Years of dedicated research and study in painting and restoration have enabled the Città di Castello workshop to faithfully restore the methods and recipes used by Renaissance masters on fresco, panel and canvas. For fresco work the same type of lime used by Giotto is employed — a pure lime, free of salts and alkalis that could damage the work over time. The technique applied is 'fresco' pictography with intervention in 18 kt gold leaf, which allows the colors to blend perfectly with the lime pigment during drying, ensuring a durable and harmonious integration. The pigments used are oxide-based, guaranteeing long-lasting color intensity.
The work
The piece depicts Christ crucified with outstretched arms following the Christus Triumphans iconography, surrounded by sacred figures and rich symbolic decoration that accompany the composition. The background and details enhanced by 18 kt gold leaf bring out the colors and recall the luminosity of the original. The crucifix is supplied with a certificate of origin and is fitted with a hook on the back for wall display.
