The Linea Aurea by Bottega Tifernate is distinguished by high-quality artistic works produced using the patented pictography technique devised by master Stefano Lazzari. This method allows the creation of reproductions that retain all the aesthetic qualities of an original painting. Years of dedicated research and study in painting and restoration have enabled the Città di Castello workshop to faithfully restore the methods and recipes the Renaissance masters applied to fresco, panel and canvas. For the frescoes, the same type of lime used by Giotto is employed — a pure lime, free from salts and alkalis that could damage the work over time. The technique used is fresco with gold leaf intervention, which allows the colors to fuse perfectly with the lime pigment during drying, ensuring a long-lasting and harmonious integration. The pigments are oxide-based, ensuring the intensity of the color remains unchanged over time.
The work
The work depicts Saint Francis in prayer on Mount La Verna receiving the stigmata from the seraphic Christ appearing in the sky. The beams of light connecting the divine figure to the saint mark the climax of the episode, while the rocky landscape and a friar absorbed in reading complete the composition, emphasising the scene's profound spiritual meaning. The reproduction is supplied with a certificate of origin and is fitted with a hook on the back for wall display.
