The technique
The Aurea line by Bottega Tifernate is noted for its high-quality artistic works made using the patented technique of pictography, devised by maestro Stefano Lazzari. This method produces reproductions that preserve the aesthetic qualities of an original painting. Years of dedicated research and study in painting and restoration have enabled the Città di Castello workshop to faithfully restore the methods and formulas the Renaissance masters applied to fresco, panel and canvas. For the frescoes, the same type of lime used by Giotto is employed, a pure lime free of salts and alkalis that could damage the work over time. The technique used is "a fresco" with gold leaf intervention, which allows the colors to blend perfectly with the lime pigment during drying, ensuring a lasting and harmonious integration. The pigments used are oxide-based, ensuring the intensity of the color remains unchanged over time.
The work
The scene shows Saint Francis with his hand raised, freeing the city of Arezzo from demons that flee in flight above the walls. The urban architecture, with towers, buildings and fortified walls, contrasts with the blue sky to create a dynamic composition that highlights the spiritual meaning of the miracle. The reproduction is delivered with a certificate of provenance and is fitted with a hook on the back for wall display.
