Plaster nave cross evangelists crucifixion 130x100 cm.Nave church cross in fir wood with hand-sculpted and hand-painted marble plaster tiles placed on wooden tablets depicting the 4 evangelists at the ends of the arms and central crucifixion. Tiles covered in copper treated with a gold and silver galvanic bath, plus final antioxidant hoeing. The cross can be hung with 2 chains or with a central hook on the back.It is a finely crafted and decorated large cross by Pietro Vittorio Milani, alias ''Victor'', a Piedmontese artist. The artist was born in Verbania in April 1950. After having lived for twenty years in the Veneto region, he moved to Abbiategrasso, Lombardy. Here he began to cultivate his passion for painting on canvas, with oil colors and watercolors. A self-taught impressionist, he will later discover the predilection for the embossing of copper, the material that is most congenial to him. An innate passion for the medieval era led him to reproduce battles, jousts, seals, heraldic shields, scenes and objects inspired by books, frescoes and historical magazines and to participate in fairs, re-enactments and exhibitions throughout Italy. A multifaceted artist, in addition to depictions of historical periods, his works also portray various contemporary examples. Through very different themes and subjects, in copper and plaster, the transition from a two-dimensionality of screen prints, paintings and frescoes to a lively and pulsating three-dimensionality is highlighted. In 2018, thanks to the meeting with a restorer, master of galvanic, gold and silver, he approaches sacred art. He creates works depicting various religious subjects, on crosses, reliquaries, tabernacles and portraits. One of the most valuable creations, "The Byzantine-style baptismal font", a very demanding, unique and unrepeatable work. Some of the works are located in various sacred places, including: the Basilica Sanctuary of the Madonna della Guardia di Tortona, the Church of Don Orione in Sanremo, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Chioggia.
