Two-tone brass chalice with “Passion of Christ”, 27 cm. The liturgical chalice is produced by copper electroforming with enamel application and presents a richly detailed Gothic style. The base is decorated with floral motifs and intertwined branches enlivened by angel faces; between these elements are three scenes of the Passion of Christ: the casting of lots for his garments, Pontius Pilate washing his hands, and the Crucifixion. The central knot repeats the theme with angel faces flanked by instruments of the Passion: dice, tongs, hammer and spears, creating continuity with the overall decoration. The church chalice features a two-tone finish, its lower section recalling the knot’s motifs; the contrast between gold-plated and silvered brass gives the piece an elegant appearance.
