Hand-Painted Virgin Mary Figurine for Nativity Scene by Dellarte Ceramics, 20 cm. A serene Virgin Mary in prayer, with gentle eyes and harmonious lines, dressed in a blue mantle adorned with golden details, envelops the figure in a gesture of protection and tenderness. The red robe adds a touch of warmth and depth. The crossed hands on the chest highlight a pose of prayer and devotion. This figurine is crafted from Faenza ceramic following a meticulous artisanal process, starting from liquid clay, the so-called slip, poured into plaster molds to achieve the desired shape, then undergoing an initial firing at 1000°C. The decoration is hand-painted with non-toxic glazes, followed by a bath in transparent crystalline glaze. After a second firing at 920°C, the figurine is enriched with strokes of 10% pure gold leaf, finally fired at 720°C. Dellarte Ceramics is a family-run workshop conceived from the vision of Paola Zaghi, a former professor of Art History and Painting Design. For over 20 years, the company that is based in the province of Rovigo, has been creating unique objects that blend aesthetics and artisanal wisdom, aiming to bring the beauty of handmade art into everyday life.
