Set of 12 hand-painted Nativity Scene statues by Dellarte Ceramics, 20 cm. This Nativity set consists of 12 finely crafted ceramic statuettes from Faenza, Italy. Each meticulously made and decorated by hand. The set includes the Holy Family, the Three Wise Men, two shepherds, a washerwoman, the donkey and ox, a bagpiper, a rare figure in traditional Nativity sets, adding an authentic touch of Italian folklore. Each nativity figure is created by casting slip into plaster molds, following a meticulous artisanal process. After an initial firing at 1000°C, they are decorated with non-toxic glazes, then immersed in crystalline for a glossy and protective finish. The second firing at 920°C sets the colors, while the third at 720°C applies the 10% pure gold leaf details, making each statuette precious and radiant. Unlike many ceramic Nativity sets, this set stands out for its rich and harmonious narrative composition, delicate facial expressions, suitable for both classic and modern settings. A creation of the Dellarte Ceramics workshop, founded by Paola Zaghi, an art history teacher and expert, this Nativity embodies a synthesis of Italian art, faith, and craftsmanship.
