Hand-painted ceramic Nativity scene by Dellarte Ceramiche, 20 cm. This Nativity scene includes the three central characters of the Nativity: St. Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus. Each nativity figure is crafted in Faenza ceramic and meticulously finished by hand, following a precise artisanal process. The production involves casting the slip into plaster molds, followed by an initial firing at 1000°C. Subsequently, the figures are hand-painted with lead-free non-toxic glazes, dipped in clear glaze for a shiny finish, and subjected to a second firing at 920°C. The application of 10% pure gold, fixed with a third firing at 720°C, adds value and radiance to the details. This Nativity scene bears the signature of Dellarte Ceramiche, a family-run artisanal workshop founded by Paola Zaghi, an artist with extensive experience in art history teaching and painting design. Each creation reflects a profound aesthetic sense and respect for Italian ceramic tradition. Made in Italy.
