Bagpiper Nativity Figurine Dellarte Ceramics 20 cm Hand-painted. This bagpiper, with his bagpipe clasped between his arms and his face marked by a gentle expression of concentration, embodies one of the most beloved characters in the Nativity scene tradition. The leaning posture, hat, and warm colors of the attire evoke the typical atmosphere of street musicians announcing Christmas in Italian villages. Crafted from Faenza ceramic, shaped using the ancient slip technique, a mixture of liquid clay cast into plaster molds to achieve the desired form. After the first firing at 1000°C, the piece is hand-decorated with bright, non-toxic glazes, then immersed in transparent crystalline and subjected to a second firing at 920°C. The 10% 24-karat gold brush-applied finishes, fired at 720°C, enrich every detail. Created by Dellarte Ceramics, a family-run studio founded over twenty years ago by Paola Zaghi, a former Art History and Painting Design teacher. With great passion and a distinctive style, Paola creates objects that blend beauty, tradition, and craftsmanship. Each nativity figurine becomes a small narrative of gestures, emotions, and care.
