Wine maker, animated Neapolitan Nativity figurine 12cm

Where do I begin.... Simply amazing! As an avid Nativity displayer in many forms and as someone that is constantly purchasing motion/movement items for the nativity; I have to say many good things about this particular piece. I love that for the most part, the Italian pieces have a "smaller overall base" when you compare them to a Spaniard one. This feature takes up A LOT LESS space in any display which is wonderful. The sizing is actually good for 4,5, & 6 inch figure displays. It could be good on a 7" if weren't due to the man in the display having a beard and as an old man. If the artisans are reading this, they might consider doing the same thing, not as an old man but just a man WITHOUT a beard it would be fantastic for all sizes of displays I listed above including 7". This piece although well packaged; came somewhat loose on the wooden pieces. Nothing that I could not fix myself. It was packaged well enough that nothing broke; but just "unglued". All was fine after I glued it back on. It is important to note that this piece has a functioning "water fountain" right under the barrel. It is lovely because the water poured acts as wine. Since there are red brush strokes all over, the water totally looks and feels as if it were wine! It is another delightful piece! The only thing I would definitely take into consideration when including it in a display is the following: Due to the water's evaporation; it is important that you place this figure in an easily accessible place and basically within an arm's reach to the actual water fill which is under the wine barrel. You must also connect it "INDIVIDUALLY" from everything else and not with an extension for the simple reason that if you leave it ongoing for hours, the fountain motor might very well burn due to the lack of water in the place that holds it; which in this case is about 3 inches tall with a 2 inch diameter and quite small. By connecting it separately and within arms reach; you can basically leave it off most of the times when the entire display is running and when you want to activate it before a party, event or personal enjoyment, just go back, fill the water part, plug it in and enjoy. When the party, event or personal enjoyment is over, just unplug it and leave the rest of the display active. If the water container still has water, don't worry, it will evaporate and nothing will happen to the figure. Due to all I stated above, I would highly recommend this figure for someone that has experience with displays simply because it is a more delicate piece than most in this site. It is also not advertised as a fountain when in more ways than one it is. Whatever you decide; it is a lovely, well made and different item that will unequivocally add to the livelihood and fun of any display.
