Neapolitan nativity figurine depicting an old woman with a sheep, suitable for a 8cm (3,15in) nativity scene.
The character is made in Neaples, capital of the nativity scene tradition; the figurine is completely handmade, made of real terracotta, covered in molded cloth. The limited availability of the fabrics and the handmade craftsmanship result in a product that is always slightly different and therefore unique; a really valuable figurine for nativity scenes.

Patricia M.2/28/2023This old woman is delightful. I really do love the way in which these figures are clothed. The fabric is so authentic for the period. It looks very realistic. I have several Fontanini pieces, but actually prefer the way in which these figures are clothed.
