The night falls on the pastures and the shepherd tries to gather all the sheep,control them, he lights the fire and prepares for the night. All the statues are handmade, in terracotta and cloth, with skill and care by the Sicilian artist Angela Tripi.
Normally the statues of the traditional nativity scene, for example the Neapolitan one, are made with a skeleton made with fabrics and with the ends in terracotta (the head, hands and feet).
In his works, the artist tells a story: each figurine is depicted in a moment of its life, allowing us to understand the existence of a before and after moment. Characteristic details often emerge as tense muscles of a slave or the expression lines of an elderly person.
Angela Tripi succeeds in giving each shepherd an amazing realism, rending her works truly one of a kind. Adapted for a 30 cm nativity scene.
