Shepherd on camel statue, 13 nativity Angela Tripi.
The shepherd rides a camel, he's following the crowd that goes towards the nativity stable: an angel has announced the birth of the Son of God. The camel has a full load on its back and brings a gift to baby Jesus.
The nativity statue is made of terracotta, dressed with cloth and carefully hand painted.Angela Tripi manages to create pieces that are characterized by an extraordinary wealth of details, charisma and expression.A very important peculiarity is that the statues of Angela Tripi have completely formed bodies. Normally, terracotta statues of the traditional nativity scene, for example the Neapolitan one, are built starting from a skeleton covered with fabrics to which the head, hands and feet are applied.Instead, the statues of Tripi have complete terracotta bodies "dressed" in cloth. In her works, the artist tells a story: each statue is depicted at a specific moment in their life, telling us a before and after of the moment.Details such as tense muscles, tendons, expression lines and hands (open and with well-defined fingers) emerge clearly.Angela Tripi succeeds in giving each statue an amazing realism, never before seen and unrepeatable: her figurines will never be equal to each other, rending each one unique. The statue is adapted for a 13 cm scene.
