In the Russian city of Novgorod, this icon showed its miraculous power with the healing of the peasant girl Edvokia. It was then transferred to the village of Palizia and in 1641 to Moscow. In the place where the icon was transferred, a convent was built.The icon is celebrated on August 13 and on the sixth Sunday after Easter.The icon is made and painted by hand according to the principles of the Byzantine-Russian school. It is made on linden wood covered with gold leaves. Measures 36cm x 30cm.
