Love towards men is the other great theme addressed in this image which in fact depicts the Sacred Heart as surrounded by the crown of thorns, symbol of His sacrifice, and flaming like the ardor of His affection towards men, upright or sinners. As a further reference to the Crucifixion, Jesus is depicted here with the stigmata on his hands.The image is surrounded by a wooden frame in cold tones, carved to form squares with floral motifs and with engraved figures of angels and saints.
