The icon is painted according to the traditional iconographic techniques of Orthodox art by Russian painters.The icon, known as the Praises of the Mother of God, shows Mary on a throne surrounded by prophets, who present the content of their visions on a scroll.The Virgin is portrayed with the Child in her arms, while under her throne is the inscription 'From the other side the prophets have announced you'.The prophets depicted are the patriarch Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Gedon, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Habakkuk and Zechariah.The Mother of God icon measures 32x26 cm. It is 100% made and hand painted with egg tempera in Russia. The icon is delivered accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
