Glikofilussa Virgin icon, Greece. The iconographic symbol of the Glykophilousa (the tender lover) dates back to the fourteenth century as a variant of the Odigitria Elousa Virgin who distinguishes for the tenderness between the Mother and the Son. This icon is intense and profound,tender and delicate at the same time. This icon takes its name from an hymn of the Eastern Church: you who are more honourable than cherubines and more glorious than seraphines, you, who, indeffably, gave birth to the Verb, Glory to you, Mother of God.
