Trefoil cross Russian icon, ivory colour.
This orthodox cross is a miniature, hand made in Mstera, one of the Russian schools of iconography close to the ancient Russian capital VLadimir.
The support is made of Papier-mâché soaked in oil until a it forms a ground mixture, which is den put in a mould and hand-painted by master craftsmen.
After this, the cross is lacquered 7 times.
The icon measures 17.5 x 12.5 cm and it's a high quality piece of art.
