The Deesis is the ideal center of the iconostasis as it makes evident the link between Christ and humanity, not only from a purely iconographic point of view but also physically, placing itself between the faithful and the Eucharist.This orthodox icon dates back to the second half of the 1800s and comes from central Russia. The Russian icon is painted with egg tempera on a wooden tablet prepared according to traditional methods.
