Via Crucis medal in golden alloy depicting the first fall of Christ - 3rd station of the Way of the Cross.This moment is remembered in the third station of the Via Crucis, the way that Christ had to take after the death sentence. Pilate made the people choose who to save between Barabbas and Jesus. Barabbas was chosen and the savior was condemned to die. After being scourged he was handed over to the soldiers who made him bear the cross and after a kilometer of road he reached the place where he was crucified. Christ, after his departure, defeated death and saved the souls of all, both those who followed him and those who denied him. In the third station Christ is seen falling under the weight of the cross. The cross, being made of wood, had a considerable weight, but beyond that there was the hatred he perceived from those who despised and insulted him, and the pain of the lashes he was given before being charged with the cross. There was still a long way to go and he knew that there was still a lot of effort to try. The Italian workshop that produced this pendant is famous for making the original stations along the Via Crucis in Jerusalem and for working for the Vatican.Part of the proceeds will be donated to safeguarding the artistic heritage of Jerusalem.
