Baby Jesus in wood manger 30 cm, Tripi nativity.
The little infant Jesus lies in a manger, serene, warmed by the ox and by the donkey. A humble cradle, but made with love by Mamma Maria and Papa Joseph, who watch over him and look after him. All the statues are handmade, in terracotta and cloth, with skill and care by the Sicilian artist, Angela Tripi. Normally the statues of the traditional nativity scene, for example the Neapolitan one, are made with a skeleton made of fabrics and terracotta ends (the head, hands and feet). In her works, the artist tells a story: each statue is depicted in a moment of his life, allowing us to understand the existence of a before and after moment. Characteristic details often emerge as tense muscles of a slave or the expression lines of an elderly person. Angela Tripi succeeds in giving each shepherd amazing realism, never seen before and unrepeatable: her works will never be the same, making each one unique. Adapted for a 30 cm nativity scene.
