Elegant statue depicting the first apparition of Our Lady, on June 24th 1981, on the hills of Podbrdo in Medjugorje.The Madonna is depicted with one arm extended forward, facing the faithful, while the other arm is bent towards her chest.The white Medjugorje statue has details seen in the folds of the robe, the veil, and the sweet expression of the Virgin's face.On the base, there is a plate engraved with the word Regina Pacis, that is the Queen (or Lady) of Peace.The Virgin is called Queen of Peace because the message she transmits to the faithful is a message of Peace, a Peace that can be reached through a path that fixes five steps, called the five stones, humble prayer, fasting on Wednesdays and on Fridays, the daily reading of the Bible, Confession once a month and the Eucharist every day.The statue measures 38x15.5 cm and is made of local marble powder from a Bosnian company in Medjugorje.The Our Lady Queen of Peace statue is treated with a special protective lacquer that makes it suitable for outdoor use.
